Art Gardenswartz, Hall of Famer

Silver Horizons New Mexico Announces:  Silver Horizons New Mexico has announced that Albuquerque JCC President Art Gardenswartz is one of the four Senior Hall of Fame inductees for 2012.

His co-inductees are Sid Cutter (posthumous), Carol Tucker Trelease, and Jane & Doug Swift.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the event, and this deserving group will join the 116 exclusive members inducted in the past 29 years.

Senior Hall of Famers must be 65 or older, and demonstrate that a considerable portion of their efforts in life were unselfishly dedicated to the betterment of our community.

Portraits of all Senior Hall of Famers are permanently displayed in the Walk of Fame at the Albuquerque Civic Center.  Sid Cutter, whom we lost last year to cancer, is the first posthumous inductee in the 30 year history.

Silver Horizons New Mexico, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(2) public charity founded in 1979 as a private sector fund raising arm of the City of Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs.  It is principally a volunteer organization, and boasts one of the highest percentage of cash raised to services delivered.

They help hundreds of deserving senior citizens in crisis each year with rent, utility bills, home repairs, household chores, handicapped and safety equipment, transportation, wellness programs, food, clothing, and referrals to many other necessary services.  Log on to www.silverhorizons.org for more information.
