Schedule & Cost: The class meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The first class is on June 19, and the final class is on August 2. $36 CA members. $54 community.
Required Reading: Please purchase a copy of Introduction to Judaism, A Sourcebook, edited by Stephen J. Einstein and Lydia Kukoff, prior to the first day of class. Congregation Albert has a limited number available in the Education office for $15 each.
Instructor: Sydney Henning, Rabbinic Intern. Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a member of Congregation Albert, Sydney graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Political Science and Journalism in 2003. After graduating, she became a community organizer for one of the largest labor unions in America, AFSCME.
In 2006, she moved to New York to become the Director of National Initiatives for Birthright Israel NEXT. Now entering her 5th year of rabbinical school at Hebrew Union College, Sydney is the recipient of the coveted Schusterman Rabbinical Fellowship.
She is currently the Reform Student Rabbi at UCLA Hillel, but is excited to be spending the summer with Congregation Albert as the rabbinical intern.
